Description
...And the girl thought she had finally found a friend.
One that would not dismiss her as a peasant,
Viewing her from the spoiled eyes of misunderstanding.
She loved the monster, and they had so much fun together.
One day, the girl thought that she would show the monster something very special to her. She wanted it to be the perfect moment, so she waited for the sun to sit on the edge of the horizon and twilight to set in.
She said, 'look at this;' then tenderly pulled apart her chest and showed it her heart.
The monster drew away, horrified. It whimpered and shied off.
"What.. ? Why are you running away?" The girl said, stepping forward to touch the monster's shaggy fur. It bristled up, and the monster let out a growl, rearing up. The girl screamed.
She awoke much later, all alone, with her heart lying broken on the ground. Silent tears fell down her cheeks, but it was not because of the bruises that marked her arms and legs. The monster was gone.
She stepped over the shattered ground and picked up her heart carefully, and tried to put it back together. Years later the only thing one would notice about her would be the silver streaks that ran like streams through her aged hair, and her empty eyes. A little jar sat beside her window, sealed at the top with a lead stopper. The body was made of glass, and at twilight the sun would sit on the horizon and illuminate the little jar, and reveal the contents of a shattered heart.
I don't really like this piece.
